Our Story

River Valley Nonprofits (RVNP) was established in response to the unique challenges faced by nonprofits during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. As organizations struggled to engage donors, adapt fundraising strategies, and continue serving their communities, a small group of nonprofit leaders began to meet informally to share concerns and brainstorm solutions. What began as a casual coffee discussion in 2020 quickly evolved into an essential network of collaboration and support.

By early 2022, the need for a more structured approach to strengthen the local nonprofit sector was clear. This realization led to the formation of RVNP as a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, dedicated to fostering collaboration, enhancing professional development, and empowering organizations to better serve their communities.

Today, RVNP provides essential resources, educational opportunities, and networking events for nonprofits throughout the Fort Smith River Valley area. Through bi-monthly meetings, workshops, and training sessions, we equip nonprofit leaders with the tools and connections necessary for success.

Together, we are building a stronger, more interconnected nonprofit sector—because when nonprofits flourish, so do our communities.
